Hurt’s son, Will, said in a statement that Hurt died Sunday of natural causes. He said Hurt died peacefully, among family. Deadline first reported Hurt’s death.

MALIBU, CA — Pepperdine University community members gathered Wednesday for a prayer vigil in memory of student Autumn Tennison, 21, a junior who died Monday.
Tennison’s death was “unexpected,” said Dan Rodriguez, one of Tennison’s teachers at Pepperdine.
Tennison’s cause of death was still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah — Family members on Monday were remembering a 9-year-old boy who died suddenly over the weekend.
Garth Gagnier said his son, Logan, simply went to sleep Friday night after spending the evening with his grandparents and a sibling, and seemed to be late rising Saturday morning.
“My oldest daughter ran upstairs just to see if he was okay and found him unresponsive and… he’d been gone for hours,” Gagnier said as his eyes welled up with tears.
Gagnier said the boy had no known health issues, and a preliminary autopsy came back as inconclusive.

“He was healthy and he was active, so that’s what’s confusing and frustrating,” the father said.
According to the family, Logan was very active in sports, including football and basketball, and loved BYU football and the Utah Jazz.

33-year-old Dr. Catherine “Cate” Lydia Edgell, a resident of Portland, Oregon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Catherine was born on July 15, 1988. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Dr. Catherine L. Edgell is an internist in Portland, Oregon and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center-Corvallis and OHSU Hospital. She received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and has been in practice between 3-5 years.

ST. LOUIS — The I-Team is learning more about the final hours of Cora Faith Walker, a former state representative and top aide to St. Louis County Executive Sam Page, whose recent sudden and unexpected death prompted an outpouring of support from local, state and national politicians.
Fire and EMS crews were called to the Live! By Lowe’s hotel in the 700 block of Clark Avenue in St. Louis at 8:58 a.m. Friday. It’s unclear what the nature of the call was.
St. Louis Medical Examiner Dr. Michael Graham conducted an autopsy Monday.
“There were no physical injuries or signs of trauma to the body,” he said.
Graham said he would not be able to determine the cause of Walker’s death until toxicology results come back in about a month.

Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley announced Saturday that Officer Mark Jenkins died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday.
Quigley said Jenkins was in Quincy with coworkers Friday afternoon when he collapsed. His coworkers initiated CPR, and both Quincy Emergency Services and Carney Hospital workers tried to revive him, but were unsuccessful, Quigley said.

Rookie San Jose police officer, former San Jose State running back dies

A rookie San Jose police officer who joined the agency after a San Jose State football career that took him from junior-college walk-on to lead running back died suddenly over the weekend, according to authorities.
DeJon Packer, 24, was found dead Sunday afternoon at his Milpitas home, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office and a law-enforcement source. The Milpitas Police Department’s press log shows that officers were called to the home for a report of a sudden death.
Additional details about the circumstances of Packer’s death were not immediately released. The coroner’s office stated that an official cause of death is still pending.
