A prime example of the efficacy of brainwashing by the state

Allan Sørensen, a journalist for the Danish newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad, tweeted out the photo below on July 9.
It shows Israelis gathered to watch the bombing of Gaza as if they were watching a fireworks display.
This sort of callous behavior – witnessing from afar the murder of children and other innocents – is a prime example of the efficacy of brainwashing by the state.
Recall Americans gathered around the television cheering Bush’s “shock and awe” mass murder campaign unleashed on Baghdad in March, 2003.
As an example of how easily a population can be propagandized and brainwashed, consider that, according to polls, prior to the invasion of Iraq nearly 60% of Americans supported the organized mass murder of civilians who did not pose a threat to them. However, after all was said and done and no WMDs were discovered, the same amount of folks said invading the country was a mistake.
Americans have also supported Israeli mass murder campaigns. In 2010, when Israel attacked Gaza, 57% of Americans polled by CNN said the attack was justified. CNN, of course, as a branch office of the Army’s psychological warfare unit, specializes in crafting pro-war and mass murder propaganda.
As Nazi Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring said, it is relatively easy to brainwash the masses. He said “the common people don’t want war,” but they “can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”
