Commentary by your Host: Roger Landry (TLB)
Hello everyone and welcome to Episode #24 of TLBTalk Radio.

Today we will Discuss the fourth of July … Independence day … one of the most celebrated holidays in America throughout our two and a half century history. Today we will discuss the 4th of July in an America where our future is all but certain, and far from comfortable. Today it’ll be harder to celebrate America’s birthday when the American dream may be on the ropes. But it will be a good time to reflect on how we got into this mess to start with.

But, as usual, before we get started I would like to once again, say thanks to RBN for the platform (explained in broadcast), to Sam, the show producer, and to Annie at Shake and Wake Radio for this shows replays on Thursdays, and for also hosting my newest show (with Co-Host Stephen Roberts) Eagle’s Eye Report on Wednesdays from 4-5 PM Central. They are all a very significant part of the weekly success of The Liberty Beacon Project’s Message …

Again I will state that the message I bring to you today is not entertainment, nor is it baseless guesses, or remote possibilities. Most of what I deliver is in your face reality, recorded facts or an inevitability depending on our course of action.

So, let’s jump into this …
This episode is loosely based on another great commentary that we were lucky enough to find and republish on TheLibertyBeacon.com. It was written by By: Dan Sanchez and the title is “What Has Government Done to the Fourth of July?”. We get so many great articles from great websites and authors, that sometimes it is hard to pick … but this one put the right spark in my head to highlight this show …

So Let’s get real …

Let me open with this simple truth: Today in America We The People have less freedom to celebrate, and fewer goods and services to celebrate with.

Our crashing economy and supply chain will put a serious damper on celebrations across the country this year in a fashion we have not seen in our lifetimes.

It would also seem that some communities may be rescheduling their July 4th fireworks shows because of a shortage of fireworks.

Many mainstream news outlets are reporting, cookouts and barbecues will be much more expensive than last year. For Instance The Washington Examiner reported:

“The cost of a July Fourth cookout is expected to be 17% higher than last year, according to a market basket survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation. That is a number that outpaces headline inflation, as prices on average are 8.6% higher from a year ago, according to the consumer price index. It also represents a major reversal from the small savings for the holiday that the Biden White House infamously touted in 2021 — to the derision of commentators.”

As I stated in my opening … It’ll be harder to celebrate America’s birthday when the American dream is on the ropes. But it will be a good time to reflect on how we got into this predicament.

First off lets reflect on the meaning of this holiday …

The Fourth of July is America’s Independence Day. It marks our separation from the British Empire: a government that, through “a long train of abuses and usurpations” (as our Declaration of Independence put it) had shown themselves to be “destructive” of the individual rights of Americans. According to the classical liberal credo of America’s founders, that was unacceptable, because the only proper purpose of government is to protect the individual rights of the governed.

Now the US government … our so-called representatives, trample on the rights of Americans to a degree that makes our past British rulers look positively benign in comparison. Especially since the rise of the Covid plandemic, the government’s attacks on liberty and property have escalated into an all-out war on production and thus on our very livelihoods.

And there is a whole lot more … but rather than tell my entire story here I would ask that you instead, please …

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
