Update ( 2 pm ET): The death toll in today’s shooting has risen to two students, while another 12 people were injured, according to the Washington Post.
Gov. Matt Bevin said the suspected shooter, a 15-year-old boy, was apprehended at the scene and will face murder and attempted murder charges. The victims include a 15-year-old girl, pronounced dead at the high school, and a 15-year-old boy, who died at a hospital.

According to WKRN, a school in Marshall County, Kentucky has been placed on lockdown after a shooting at the school. It happened Tuesday morning at Marshall County High School in Benton.

According to preliminary reports, at least 5 students have been shot. At least three students have been injured in the shooting, according to local radio.

According to Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, there has been one confirmed fatality.

1 pistol has reportedly been located and secured, searching for additional victims.
It is being widely reported that the suspect is in police custody but that has not been confirmed by police on the scene at this stage. There has been a major law enforcement response.
