How the Globalists Are Raping Africa (and the Rest of the World, Too)

By Melissa Melton

Episode 2 of Truthstream News explores the hidden agenda for global domination behind ‘charitable’ international aid and agribusiness.

In this second episode of Truthstream News, Aaron Dykes and Melissa Melton expose the phony pretenses behind a massive corporate takeover in Africa – as well as other examples of Trojan Horse philanthropic aid on the international scene.

The United States just led the first ever U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, hosting figures from throughout the African continent to discuss its development. But despite typical rhetoric about lifting populations out of poverty and addressing Ebola outbreak concerns, the core of the conference was about promoting American-based multinational business in Africa.

This is particularly true of GMO-oriented agribusiness, which has been heavily pushed upon the continent in the name of increasing productivity and consolidating farms on Africa’s 60% share of the world’s arable land.

During this summit, Secretary of State John Kerry urged Africans not to create new farms, but rather to “improve” existing farms:

“Rather than convert natural areas to new farmland, a process that typically releases significant amounts of carbon pollution, we can instead concentrate our efforts on making existing farmlands more productive.”

The code words supporting biotech and export-oriented big business can hardly be missed between the lines.

President Obama quietly issued an executive order to back this effort up: “Establishing the President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa”. The advisory council is to be made up of 15 corporate leaders in banking, agriculture and industry.

Back in June 2013, Obama tried to scare African youth leaders out of developing enough to raise their standards of living to the Western consumption levels:

“Ultimately, if you think about all the youth that everybody has mentioned here in Africa, if everybody is raising living standards to the point where everybody has got a car and everybody has got air conditioning, and everybody has got a big house, well, the planet will boil over…”

The rise of genetically-modified mega-farming has been a major component of AGRA (the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa), founded in 2006 by the Rockefeller Foundation and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Back in February, the G8 established the USAID-led New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition Initiative for Africa, another open door to fast track GMO farming. It’s critics blasted that African leaders acquiesced to biotech demands, and changed export regulations, tax laws and even handed over vast tracks of prime land to allow mainstream commercial development of Africa.

The worst part is that studies have shown that mega-farming is not the most productive method, and will not be “the solution” to feeding the world. To the contrary, research has found that small, peasant farmers working small plots of land are consistently more productive, and also give economic hope to typically poor African farmers.

However, the shift towards GMO crops in Africa means farmers would be dependent upon buying seeds and receiving oversight from multinational firms, while many have been pushed off their land to make way for these “improved” GMO farms, for carbon offset tree planting and/or to grow crops for ethanol biofuel production (at the expense of food).

The Organic Consumers Association tore apart the 2012 agreement, pointing out the basic flaws in the program, and its uneven gains for corporate partners:

“Study after study has shown that organic, agro-ecological farming practices on small diverse farms can boost yields in Africa and the developing world from 100-1000% over the yields of chemical-intensive or genetically engineered mono-crop farms. To help the world’s two billion small farmers and rural villagers survive and prosper we need to help them gain access, not to genetically engineered seeds and expensive chemical inputs; but rather access to land, water, and the tools and techniques of traditional, sustainable farming: non-patented open-pollinated seeds, crop rotation, natural compost production, beneficial insects, and access to local markets. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) reduce crop yields, and increase pesticide use, even according to USDA statistics. Bill Gates, Monsanto, and Barack Obama may believe that genetic engineering and chemical-intensive agriculture are the tools to feed the world, but a look at the fatal harvest of modern agribusiness tells a different story. Not only can climate-friendly, healthy organic agriculture practices feed the world, but in fact organic farming is the only way we are going to be able to feed the world.”

With this huge deception underway in Africa, Aaron and Melissa highlight some of the other blatant abuses that have been carried out in the name of international assistance – from schemes to use food aid as a tool of coercion in accepting population control to strings attached through the IMF and World Bank that allow bankers to call the shots in shaping the future of an entire nation, while subjugating its people under often harsh austerity measures.

Corntamination: An Investigative Special Report

In a special investigative report, Truthstream follows the trail of biopharming, where science is using genetically engineered crops to growing pharmaceutical and vaccine components. Some of these medications are developed to be eaten directly from the food.

One firm, Prodigene, was caught in a major scandal back in 2003 after experimental pharmaceuticals growing in open air fields – treatments for AIDS, Hepatitis B and gastrointestinal diseases – contaminated nearby food crops. Rather than reign in their potentially hazardous test crops, the USDA – publicly supportive of biopharmaceutical potential – helped Prodigene pay back damages and cover further research. However, the firm disappeared after a subsequent contamination violation led to a court decision barring them and their principals from getting further permits.

But did Prodigene really stop its pharma-crop production? Melissa Melton follows its founder and lead research scientist through his work at a spinoff firm, where human trials are beginning for drug treatments grown in genetically modified crops.
